Bio
I am Ryan Chapman, and this is my ePortfolio. I have worked in education for almost fifteen years, and am currently a professor of history at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I hold a Master's and BA in History from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and a degree in Secondary Education from Appalachian State University. I am also currently pursuing a Master's in Instructional Design and Leadership at the University of Illinois.
I have taught in both public and private high schools and at the community college level. I am also a musician and teach guitar lessons remotely through my good friend's music studio, Steele Music Studios.
Having enjoyed fostering education in the classroom for the past fourteen years, it is time for me to parlay my current skills and diversify my skill-set. This new journey began with an Instructional Design certificate I use to facilitate better online learning for my learners, colleagues, and peers. Since January 2020, I have been an exclusively online instructor, predating COVID-19 by two months. This afforded me the opportunity to hone my online instruction skills ahead of my colleagues who were forced online when the pandemic set in that March. Please check back often as this ePortfolio is updated to see what I am creating.
Take care and stay safe,
Ryan
